Kao is working with partners to develop film-to-film recycling technology for flexible packaging. Together with Mitsui Chemicals and Prime Polymer Co., Ltd., it is exploring ways to mass-produce recycled plastic pellets for films. Through the technology developed through the joint development, Kao refills the Attack ZERO with 10% recycled materials and an intermediate layer, which was launched in May this year.
In addition, Kao has innovatively reduced the width of the molded ear material for polyethylene (PE) plastic bottle containers, and improved the resistance of the container to environmental stress by dispersing the pressure of the bottle body, so as to achieve a thin body of the bottle.
At present, Kao's Birou and other brands have fully used new PE container bottles, which reduces the amount of PE plastic used in a single product by 24% (about 9g) compared with before the improvement.
