Suntory PepsiCo And Nestlé Launch 100% Recycled Plastic Bottles in Thailand!

What will a bottle made entirely of recycled plastic look like?

 

Suntory Pepsi Beverages (Thailand) Pepsi and TEA ready-to-drink tea, and Nestlé's natural mineral water brand Minéré launched 100% recycled plastic bottles, which are the first beverage brands in the Thai market to use 100% recycled polyethylene terephthalate (rPET) plastic bottles. Its plastic bottles are made from ENVICCO's high-quality post-consumer recycling (PCR) materials. Envicco is the first recycler in Thailand to receive Food Grade rPET certification from the National Food and Drug Administration, having previously been certified by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Suntory Pepsi Beverages first launched Pepsi and Pepsi Diet Drinks packaged in rPET bottles in April, and recently launched the first TEA product in 100% rPET bottles in the ready-to-drink tea market in Thailand. The package is used in TEA products of all tastes and is printed with the 100% rPET logo, which meets FDA standards. TEAs with this eco-friendly packaging are now available on the shelves of convenience stores and select retailers in Thailand.

Minéré announced the launch of the "Minéré eco-friendly rPET bottle" on its official account in June. According to reports, in the production process, Minéré collects and separates used plastic bottles, and after 9 steps of cleaning, digests and melts into plastic particles at a high temperature of up to 200 degrees, and finally remakes safe and clean rPET bottles.

In parallel with the launch of its products, the brand also carried out collection and recycling activities aimed at helping Thais understand the benefits of sustainable packaging solutions. Suntory Pepsi Beverages partnered with the Property Management Office (PMCU) of Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok to launch the "Fizzy Consciousness to Change the World" campaign. Minéré partnered with supermarket chain 7-Eleven and GC's waste management platform YOUTURN to promote the slogan "Bottle made from Bottles".
