The characteristics of HDPE injection blow molding are as follows:
1. The plastic melt is injected into the billet mold, which is subjected to a certain orientation effect in the circumference of the cavity. In addition, the temperature of the billet is lower than that of extrusion blowing, and the orientation effect caused by blowing can be retained more, which helps to improve the strength and other properties of HDPE bottles.
2. HDPE bottle has high dimensional accuracy, it is easier to ensure the uniformity of the wall thickness of the bottle body according to the requirements, and the bottle body specification is uniform.
3. The surface of the bottle body does not form a joint seam, does not need to be trimmed after molding, generally does not produce scrap leftovers, and the scraps produced by extrusion blow molding are usually 5%--30%.
4. The gloss of the bottle body is high, and the transparency of the bottle body formed by transparent polymer is obvious.
5. The moving bottom module can be set on the blow molding mold, so the shape design of the bottom of the bottle body is more flexible. It is more suitable for forming rigid plastic bottles and wide-mouth plastic bottles.
6. Injection blow molding should have two kinds of molds, billet mold and blow molding mold, and the mold requirements are high, so the mold cost of injection blow molding is higher, about 2-3 times that of extrusion blow molding. Due to the high pressure of the melt in the cavity of the billet mold, the residual stress of the blow molded bottle is high, and the mold force required by the billet mold is high. Most of the bottles with small solvents are formed by injection blowing, and the energy consumption is significantly higher than that of products with complex shapes.

In pharmaceutical packaging, the sealing degree of polyethylene bottle mouth affects the safety of drugs, and the injection blow molding method has high dimensional accuracy on the bottle mouth and thread, the appearance size of Kyoto, the bottle wall thickness is uniform, adapt to the special requirements of pharmaceutical packaging, can prevent the volatilization of the drug gas contained in the bottle and the penetration of external polluted air into the bottle, so now the injection blow molding method is used to produce high-quality pharmaceutical plastic bottles.
