Do you know these basic knowledge about PET bottles?

PET bottle refers to a plastic packaging bottle made of PET polyester as raw material, injection molding and blowing. PET bottles have strong application and are widely used in food packaging, daily chemical packaging, pharmaceutical packaging and other fields, such as cosmetic bottles, beverage bottles, mineral water bottles, medicine bottles, etc. As the intermediate semi-finished product of the subsequent biaxially oriented blowing bottle, some factors affect the quality of the injection molded product.

Characteristics of PET packaging bottles

Under a certain temperature and pressure, the mold is filled with raw materials, and under the processing of the injection molding machine, it is processed into a preform with a certain thickness and height corresponding to the mold. PET preform is processed again by blow molding to form plastic bottles, such as cosmetic bottles, beverage bottles, mineral water bottles, etc., this bottle making method is called the two-step method, that is, the method of forming preforms through injection molding processing, and then blow molding processing to form PET plastic bottles.

Advantages of PET packing

①It has good mechanical properties. The impact strength is 3~5 times that of other films, and the folding resistance is good;

②It has stable chemical properties. Resistant to oil, fat, enoic acid, dilute alkali, resistant to most solvents;

③It has excellent high and low temperature resistance. It can be used for a long time in the temperature range of 120 °C, and can withstand high temperature of 150 °C and low temperature of -70 °C for short-term use, and has little effect on its mechanical properties at high and low temperatures;

④It has excellent barrier performance. It can block air, water, oil and odor;

⑤It has excellent transparency. Can block ultraviolet rays, good gloss;

⑥It has high security. Non-toxic, tasteless, hygienic can be directly used for food packaging.

⑦The recycling rate is higher than that of other plastics. When treated as waste, it is flammable due to its low calorie value and does not produce harmful gases.

In view of the above characteristics, PET bottles are widely used in container design, such as beverage packaging, condiments, daily chemical products, pharmaceutical packaging and other fields.
